Block coding is taught in the training trough the two programs from the Codemonkey platform – Code Monkey Junior and Beaver Achiever.
With Code Monkey Junior program students will learn coding with blocks. Rather than writing out the code, students will drag and drop coding blocks that represent code. Although this is not a coding language, block coding helps students learn computational thinking and basic coding concepts such as sequencing and loops.
Beaver Achiever program increases students’ knowledge of block-based coding through the three different coding concepts on which the short activities are focus on.
The three coding concepts are:
- Sequencing & Loops;
- Conditional Loops;
- If/Else Loops.
Acquisition of knowledge and skills in block coding and introduction to the basic concepts of coding. Encouraging the development of computer thinking and introduction to the development of STEM skills.
