Professional Development Units (PDU) is a measurement unit used to measure and quantify approved educational activities, as well as professional services.


1 PDU = 1 class of formal education for project management.

Requirements for PMP certification

  • Diploma for finished Higher Education.
  • 3 years/36 months (6 years/60 months)* continuous professional experience in Project Management.
  • 4500 (7500)* working hours of managing projects.
  • 35 hour formal education for Project Management (PDU).

Certification process

  • Meeting the requirements.
  • Membership in the PMI association (optional)
  • Filling-out the online PMP application.
  • Positive response from PMI.
  • Payment.
  • Preparatory course - 10 days before taking the exam (optional)
